expressive art therapy
Welcome !
elizabethneedham art therapy combines psychotherapy, art-making and creativity to help adults, teens and children express and understand feelings, gain awareness and develop positive coping skills.
elizabethneedham art therapy specializes in:
-
worry, stress and anxiety
-
depression and low self-esteem
-
school-related issues (behavioural, academic)
-
adult life transitions (moving, graduation, divorce, empty-nest)
elizabethneedham art therapy does not require any experience with art materials or techniques. We do not diagnose or interpret your art. Our aim is to provide a safe space to play and process using paints, markers, pastels, photography, clay, collage, sculpture and more.
Our shared goal is creative exploration, relaxation, insight and growth!
I am a highly trained professional art therapist and former English and drama teacher with over 20 years experience. I am also an accomplished mixed media artist.
In addition to my clinical training, I hold qualifications in mindfulness-based stress reduction, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed expressive arts.
My art therapy studio is located in central Toronto with parking and TTC nearby. I offer individual in-person and online 60 minute sessions at $125 which may be covered by your insurance provider. I will also be offering group wellness workshops later in 2022.
Please contact me for more information or to book a complimentary 25 minute consultation. I look forward to connecting with you!

COVID has diminished our children's sense of control and safety. Engaging in a soothing, sensory
and expressive experience decreases anxiety and restores agency and confidence.
The pandemic has been isolating and unsettling. elizabethneedham art therapy offers adults a nurturing space to reconnect, invite curious exploration and cultivate mindful practices.
Making art, working with clay and using imagery helps teens express themselves in non-verbal ways. They are able to gain awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs and build self-understanding and esteem.
